Proudly dominating the shores of Lake Thun for over a thousand years, Spiez Castle is one of Switzerland's oldest and most fascinating castles. Built in the 11th century by the barons of Strättligen, and remodeled several times over the centuries, today it gracefully blends Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. A true cultural and architectural gem, the castle also houses a rich and lively museum, a contemporary art exhibition that is renewed every year, and a charming café overlooking the vineyards and lake, perfect for a gourmet break in an idyllic setting.
